The Anchor Hotel - Kippford

Our hotel was in a great and fab location right on the sea front.

The rooms were neat with a view and the breakfast was sensational! The location seemed unbeatable and stunning on the coast. Moreover, it was so close to River Urr estuary as well as Kippford.

Unfortunately Wi-Fi signal was very weak.

All fine, but noisy nights

Had a fab stay with a fine estuary view and enjoyed a delicious swordfish special for dinner.

I really enjoyed my stay at this charming spot where I loved the cozy vibe of the pub and had a hearty breakfast every morning. They offered some great relaxation options like a lovely outdoor seating area and a nice bar with a warm atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a long day. The furniture in my room was mismatched. a small detail that didn’t take away from the overall experience. 👍

Fantastic atmosphere, really good service, paired with a delicious breakfast that features high-quality food options, and the location boasts superb views, making it a good place to enjoy a quick getaway, despite the weather not being pleasant .

My room had a fine view of the Solway Firth, really refreshing. The bed was comfy, and I loved the friendly staff. Breakfast was really good-definitely the best I've ever had!

The shower was tiny, and it could use some updates.

The staff were helpful. The view across the water was calming. We decided to spend some time outside and appreciated the local scenery. It was nice to relax with my spouse after long hikes earlier in the week.

The room had some signs of wear, and we noticed some issues with the bathroom. It could have been a bit more comfortable.

My room had a nice view of the solway firth and the bed was comfy! Had a lovely family event here and they let us use the upstairs room, cool. Breakfast was amazin too, way better than what you'd expect for this price. Definitely a chill spot for a getaway!

Just a fitting option for spending a night in Kippford with great value-to-price ratio. The room was comfortable and adequate for our brief stay. Be prepared for steep stairs if your room is upstairs.

We loved golfing nearby and the horse riding was great. The staff were super friendly and the room was comfy. Breakfast was a treat! Definitely recommend for a fun trip.

The hallways were a bit dim and some decor seemed worn, a letdown. Thankfully, it didn't ruin our experience.

The room was super clean, and we found the bed super comfy. The evening meal and breakfast were really good, with the cooked breakfast being the best I've ever had-top-quality scrambled eggs. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating. The bathroom could use some attention. It had a see-through curtain and no proper blind, leading to discomfort while using the sink and toilet. We also found a shortage of plug sockets. There's definitely room for updating, especially concerning the decor and older furniture. Still, the location in Kippford is perfect for exploring Dumfries and Galloway, and the parking, while limited, never posed a problem for us.

The dual aspect view of the Solway Firth was lovely, too. The room was clean but felt a bit basic. I appreciated the friendly vibe of the whole place. Just a heads up, it might not have the flashy amenities you'd find in a fancy hotel, but it was perfect for what I needed.
